it took me about a million years to put everything together but finally the three musketeers set off to Britechester university to sharpen their young minds and whatnot
for their time in uni, I'm taking the sims 3 approach and aging has been turned off in my game. I refuse to be stressed about Casper kicking the bucket while we're off trying to finish term papers
Bella and Damien both enrolled in biology degrees but for different reasons. Bella's conservationist aspirations made biology a no-brainer and it was the closest thing for Damien to help out with his aspirations of becoming a vet
they're taking lots of fun classes like The Strength of Water and Do Plants Dream of Pollination?
Dahlia is getting a language and literature degree which will help her out with all of Grimmie's reaper responsibilities. She's mainly taking classes like the Write Expectations and Pride and Prepositions with some thanatology thrown in, as one does
the gang headed off to the dorms to meet some their roommates and claim their sleeping arrangements
sadly, after an insane amount of time googling and trying out different solutions, I tragically couldn't get the roomates that I wanted into the dorms. Sims 4 remains my sworn enemy grrrrrrrrr
on the bright side, a lot of their best high school friends are enrolled in uni as well and hanging around campus, including Kat who they ran into at the commons almost immediately
Dahlia and Kat were actually having a great time catching up. The two sims had never really gotten closure after their last argument and subsequent ghosting so it felt good to reconnect. Actually, Dahlia had completely forgotten how much she liked being around Kat and it seemed like she'd really matured...
but the conversation was interrupted when Lacey arrived and immediately pulled the saddest, poutiest face a sim could make after she spotted the two of them together. I suppose Lacey knew more about Dahlia's history than I realized, school gossip train and all that
Dahlia had no problem assuring Lacey that there was absolutely nothing to worry about. But even as she showered her girlfriend in affection, she couldn't help her mind wandering to thoughts of Kat...
soon, the term started and our young adults were getting into the rhythm of university. You know, things like studying through distractions in the library...
...running from rampaging werewolves dressed in haute couture, and dealing with their horrible roommates violin playing at 7am !
for some reason known only to herself and maybe the ocean, Bella is completely insistent on wearing a swimsuit at all times
the working theory is that she needs to be able to jump into water at a moment's notice to avoid dehydration. Mermaid problems, right ?
Dahlia was very focused on her studies and even made several offerings at the campus statue for academic success
and she was dabbling in er, creative substances for the full arts major experience
pretty soon, the days became blended together with homework, running around to all their different classes and cranking out work on final projects and papers. It was at this point that I started to think having three sims with full credit semesters wasn't the smartest idea
Casper also started showing up on campus a weird amount to deliver like care packages or whatever ? Crazy, I was not expecting him to be the helicopter parent
like that wasn't enough, he called up Damien and guilted him about the fact that he never calls home or visits, which is wild considering it'd been like 2 in-game days. Sir. Please relax
yay for communal showers 😅
on Friday, the Spirit Core showed up on quad, so naturally our college students pre-gamed with them before hitting up the E-sports game at the stadium
in a fun coincidence, both Kat and Lacey are members of the spirit guild and they did not seem to be getting along very well. Shocking
Dahlia did her best to ignore the commotion...surely it could have nothing to do with her
Dahlia was also somewhat fast with her homework so on the weekends, I could continue her quest to finish Lady Ravendancer's Tarot Deck
she went digging through the fountain in Crow's Crossing and found a death frog
then she stumbled across the Weeping Mother at her tree and since we had time I figured why not start the quest to find her children as well (since Bryn had also not finished that one ahahahaha. My bad guys, I got real busy the last generation)
she also snatched up the justice tarot card from using her intuition on the spooky tree
errrrrrr Dahlia dear ? I'm not sure that's the best prep before exploring a super scary cave
anyways, I don't think I need to go into too much detail about how Damien and Bella were spending their own free hours ;D
yeaaaaaaaaah they're absolutely terrorizing the dorms, thanks in large part to some of lumpinou's woohoo anywhere mod
Summerfest rolled around and our collegiates headed down to the wharf by the bar to take advantage of the weather
they had a little swim together and then as the sun set they gathered to eat a little bbq
they headed back to the dorms pretty quick after the meal because they were all exhausted and it was the very last day of classes the next day. Term one: survived
AHHHH WHAT THE HECK IS THAT
you can imagine my shock and horror at seeing Damien's ghost cross-stitching and I immediately found his living sim body and then hopped onto to google. Which is how I found out that the skillful sleep mastery perk is some sort of astral projection thing. Cue the "rockannie knowing what the content actually is in the game challenge"
with that, the first semester was officially over. Dahlia shockingly only got an A- !?! She literally got a C+ in one of her courses UNACCEPTABLEEEE
oh and Damien got an A overall, Bella got an A+. Kindof insanity considering that Damien and Dahlia have been skilling since childhood but whatever....
for their second semester onwards, the trio moved out of the dorms into on-campus housing
like any self-respecting sims game, mine crashed like 4-5x trying to achieve this move with all three of them and after a couple hours, I resorted to cheating Bella back into the household and university
of course, they have a random ass roommate named Johnnie who won't stop hitting on Dahlia. She was having absolutely none of it considering that she's GAY so their relationship is already plummeting
I think Bella was the most appreciative of new amenities like the bathtub
she was also partial to a nice shower here and there...
now that it was a new semester, Dahlia set out to get involved in campus activities like the debate club
she ended up meeting my simself's descendent, Yasmin, at the Debate event buuuut turns out she's a real meanie and she gave Dahlia quite the tongue lashing for no apparent reason. Rude
but Dahlia won the debate and then rolled the ambitious trait in a self-discovery moment so who's really winning here ?
that evening, our simmies decided to throw a huge keggar, although Damien was having an exceptionally hard time actually er...tapping the keg
the guests filtered in and everyone got right down to shimmying
and playing some juice pong
and cozying up together around the big bonfire in the back
not sure that fire and juiced up sims are the best combo but oh well ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
oh well this is awkward...turns out both Lacey and Kat have shown up the party and Kat is doing her damndest to get in the middle of the happy couple. Yeesh is someone bitter or what ?
ah the Kat method, lure a sim into talking to you so you can scream at them. Very classy 👀
at this point, Dahlia was pretty sick of Kat's drama. She wasn't gonna lay down and take it anymore so she screamed back at Kat, letting her know exactly what she thought of her
for a meanie, Kat did not take it well. But at least Dahlia got a boost of confidence and established once and for all that she didn't want anything to do with Kat
ah there's really nothing like a public fight with your ex to get the woohoo juices flowing
which.....Kat watched ? ickkkk girl find another bathroom to cry in, this ones occupied !!
soon it was once again that time to turn in final projects and finish up the term
Dahlia got another A-, except this time it was totally my fault because I forgot to turn in one of her term papers ughhhhhhh
Damien got an A again and Bella got another A+ LOL, she really is just a natural smartie
Dahlia and Lacey kicked off the term with a date down in ciudad enamorado
they read the history of the wall of love together and then wrote their own names on it. Then they pretty much spent the rest of the date kissing and such
here is the part where I admit something. I kiiiiinda miscalculated the credits thing and was WORKING these sims their first couple semesters. I could've pushed them through with another high-stress term but I wanted to spend some more time with the debate club so now we're just gonna have a couple super fun light semesters !!
to embrace their new chillaxing methodology, we hosted another keggar to kick off the weekend
thankfully there wasn't any ex drama this time around so the guests busied themselves with dancing around the stink of the garbage plantation we have growing in the back
chug chug chug chug !!!!
this term, Dahlia spent lots more time with the debate club building up her skills and completing tasks to level up in the group
she lost more debates than she won but she managed to reach level 3 in the group anyways
but that wasn't all. With all her new-found free time, Dahlia was absolutely speedrunning all of her spooky side-quests like finding Freddy for the weeping mother
and locating Edith who scared the beejesus out of Dahlia. Turns out she's more 'spirit' friendly than ghost friendly hahha
before she left the glen, Dahlia was pulled to a mysteriously glowing green well. A sign in old simlish marked it as the 'well of longing and regret' which seemed too macabre for something so enchanting. She almost couldn't help herself before wishing for untold riches
but the well spit out red and purple flames as a mocking voice laughed at her greed. It immediately drained most of the household funds, gawwwwwdddd
at least she got the tower and evil card from her intuition scans
after reporting back to alice that her quest was completed, Dahlia got access to the weeping willow which will refill all her needs automatically and such
she also got the star tarot card after using her intuition on the tree again
speed recap on other goodies that she collected: wheel of fortune from a tombstone, cups and coins from exploring the crypt, the empress from the baleful bog, the lovers from the widowed father, the moon card from the revelry...woo I'm out of breath. You get the point !
at this point Dahlia had collected pretty much all of the cards she could from the world and was focusing in on completing quests for the Order of Lenore
the quests led her to events like Afterlives Anonymous where she got to bond with her great-auntie Esther
in a very fun surprise, we also got to see ALABAMA who I haven't caught a single glimpse of since she died 😢
Damien was spending his time on more stereotypical hobbies for the summer like soccer ⚽️
while Bella was living her best outdoorsy conservationist fantasy and had started a cozy backyard garden. She spent essentially all her time either there or swimming so it was no surprise when she gained the outdoorsy lifestyle
that pretty much wrapped up their third semester and the first time that they all got A+'s
oh and apparently Dahlia and Lacey are engaged now. Damien got some weird popup about it and I just clicked 'yes' thinking it would just make Lacey more likely to say yes
oops
while they were at the romance festival, Damien scarfed down some of the delicious sushi and consulted with the romance guru. Good news, apparently him and Bella are an amazing match ! (although I think we already all knew that)
although maybe that's a result of Bella using her mysterious siren powers on him...
I don't know if I've ever played with mermaids before so I had no idea they could do that until she started enchanting him out of a bad mood
ok clearly I have too many packs which have a bunch of mechanics that I don't know about because all of a sudden these evil gnomes showed up and BROKE ALL OUR STUFF and left dirty piles everywhere 😡
oh and top it off, they murdered all the plants in Bella's garden that she'd worked so hard on. Freaking monsters !!!
I guess it didn't really matter all that much because they were reaching the end of their last semester
even with all the gallivanting and goofing around, they all managed to get A+'s
and with their last term complete, they headed off to graduation the next day
youll have to settle for the photos I got.....which aren't the best lmao. I've been looking into downloading poseplayer and doing some cuter photos at family events BUT that also means I have to update my whole game and I don't wanna invite in any save breaking bugs at the moment
idk what the hell is up with Bella and graduations but this time she got all dressed up but they wouldn't let her in the building !! how rude, but she settled for meditating on the sidewalk outside
*cue the ceremonial throwing of the caps*
and with that, all of our uni grads returned home and back to normal life.....well as normal as it ever gets around here
