Life has been uber busy lately, so this one took me a while to write 😅
now if you recall from last time, we parted ways with our maid succumbing to a fiery death and all our sims doing absolutely fack-all to save her. I really should be better at checking those lint traps, huh....
anyways Grimmie showed up to nab her and Bryn did her best impression of caring about the maid enough to plead for her life
which WORKED ?!? oh you've gotta be KIDDING me, of course we waste the one time that's ever gonna be successful on the stupid maid *grumbles*
as we all know, Grimmie is quite the chatty feller and after the non-reaping, he stuck around for a while regaling Casper with tales of the underworld
as the two talked and exchanged their ghost stories, Cas started to get more and more of a funny feeling, almost like a warmth that was spreading inside of him...which was ironic considering Grim was always ice cold
regardless, it shouldn't be much of a surprise that soon the conversation turned flirtatious
after all, Cas had spent his whole life flirting with death...why not do it officially ? ;)
oh sure Casper, go do it in your mom's bed. After all, that seems to be the primo location for supernatural hook-ups in this household
hopefully you're not yelling at me too loud behind the screen right now because (as we covered last time) Cas and Harvey have a bit of an unconventional relationship. And I just couldn't resist having our delightfully macabre sim go for the head honcho of the underworld, like come onnnnnn
the next afternoon, the lovebirds went out with Zayne and Aya to a restaurant in Oasis Springs
with all the work grinding, it'd been a while since they'd actually spent any quality time with their friends. The group whiled away the hours of the afternoon, determined to rectify any gaps growing in their friendships
aaaaaaand there may have been one other sneaky reason for the outing. How could Harvey propose to the love of his life without their best friends there to witness it?

after the successful engagement, the foursome spent the rest of the night celebrating at the Rattlesnake Juice bar down the road
and they really just wouldn't be my sims if they didn't finish off the night with a bang...literally
if you noticed last chapter, I've recently acquired businesses and hobbies in my game and am a little obsessed with exploring all the new businesses I've plopped into the world. On this occasion in particular, we were out exploring a CAT CAFE ahfndoanidoaniao. Never ever in my life did I think I'd be seeing a semi-functional cat cafe in the sims so color me stoked
you can't quite see it from this angle but the building even has little ears like a kittie, so cute !!
oh and the cafe also happened to be owned by none other than Maeve Huntington III, so its basically a family business imo
I think the only one more excited than me was Jaxton, the known animal lover of the family. Seriously, 10/10 experience for him, I probably should've been afraid of him dying an emotional death haha
while he played with the kitties, everyone else sat down to enjoy some delicious snacks and bevvies
but the cutest/best part was that Mr. Skelley made some other kitty friends d'aww
...and a dog friend ? How'd you get in bud, this is supposed to be a cat cafe only !
that evening, everyone was back at home for Cas and Harvey's engagement party
wahooooooo. I know, its so unlike me to actually be on top of planning social events but the duo holds a very special place in my heart ☺️
it was a huge event so naturally we invited all of the extended family and friends and laid out a huge spread of food courtesy of Jaxton's cooking skills
oh and speaking of extended family, we gotta go through some updates, starting with Bryd who's recently aged up into an elder :(
Fletcher is now a young adult and OMG he really got the best of his parent's genes wowza (pardon elder Marielle blocking up his shot haha)
oh and last but not least, Lynn Meadows and Maeve Huntington III are now teens :)
They're technically not really related to Briar's kin since they're Ayoze's granddaughters but I still consider em part of the family. Oh btw, Lynn is Isabelle's daughter and Maeve is Raelynn's
anyways, back to the party where Harvey has apparently consumed too much juice and decided to let it all hang out
seriously Zayne? there's no way you're that shocked, you've seen it all before lmao
but (surprisingly) the rest of the party went smoothly. Even their pal Guidry showed up to congratulate the pair
and in typical cool-cousins fashion, all the younger gens snuck out to the backyard to hang out by the pool
although Clarke and Freya really only had eyes, and words, for each other
ah yes, things had been going quite smoothly for the teens lately and Clarke finally felt like it was the right time to take things to the next level
the kiss that followed was pretty epic for both of them
and they might've been TOO excited to become a couple

also, totally my bad but I actually totally scheduled this engagement party during prom so these two literally never got to go together
and then well....the craziest thing happened guys
remember how uh, Cas had slept with Grimmie not too long ago after he showed up and tried to reap the maid ???
yeah well apparently, Casper had left something with ol' Grim
everyone meet Dahlia and Damien Alphabet, the first arrivals for gen 4
quite the shock to the entire household ME INCLUDED and it was a PAIN IN MY ASS to actually get them into the household let me tell you
I had to import them in using mccc and cheats in the text box but then they didn't even show up on the lot so I had to go rescue them from the underbelly of the sims game. Not to mention, our household is over 8 sims now so I'm sure that won't cause any problems *sigh*
i swear this whole thing was totally unplanned, I actually technically *cheated* to make sure that neither of them WERE pregnant after the woohoo because I wanted some more ghost hunting time before kiddos lol
oh and poor Clarke had to give up his room since we're pretty short on bedrooms lmao, he'll be bunking with his ghost aunt for while. Which actually works out pretty well considering how little Bryn sleeps
but on the brightside we had a sweet little nursery for the twins
anyways, baby stage is short so lets see these two as infants ey?
Damien went first and got the wiggly trait
Then Dahlia was up and gained the intense trait eeesh
and here the two are together all made-over !! Ig this also means that the grim reaper is black, who woulda known hahahaha
suffice it to say we've got some veeeeeerrrryyyyyy interesting coloring going on here. Pretty much Damien inherited Cas' skin and that's it ! PLUS our FIRST AND SECOND EVER non-blonde baby in this legacy let's gooooooooooooo !!!!!!! geez, it only took 4 generations
and while we're on the subject of genetics, I am also a little worried about the whole grimborn aging issue, but we'll figure it out
if you remember, Harvey also hates kids so he's been taking quite a bit of 'me' time in the bathroom
although he has been tolerating the babies (and even helping out!) on occasion but we'll see if that lasts
he spends way more time staring despondently at them in their cribs and spawning negative moodlets sooooooo I wouldn't have too much hope
luckily, Auntie Bryn was back on duty with a fresh set of babies !!! One might say she had an undying maternal instinct

and Casper has turned out to be just as good of a father as he is a ghost-hunter
speaking of which, the household had just about wrapped up the haunted house challenge at this point
I had planned on keeping it going for a while longer but after the whole twins surprise...its infuriating enough just dealing with the game bugs when taking care of little ones. I can't imagine how bad it would be if they were all running around panicking too 😅
wahoo!! this gift marks the last ghostie that we send back to the underworld. Well, at least in our own house haha, Cas is still very much employed
the next day, it was time for a very special event: Casper and Harvey's wedding !! I figured it was time to speed things along seeing as they now have a couple of kids together haha
also errr deeply confused why everyone spawned in their undies but ah well
we launched right into the ceremony and the soon-to-be Mr. Alphabet was first to walk up the aisle
followed by his beautiful blushing groom
and as the sun was beginning to set in the beautiful clear skies of Tartosa, our two lover sims were ready to commit the rest of their lives to one another
in front of all their family and friends, they exchanged their vows
and rings :D
I pronounce thee husband and husband !!
naturally the rest of the evening was spent boogieing down on the dance-floor
and another dancing pic just for funsies :D
they also kiiiindof cut and ate the cake, for some reason the interactions got all messed up and I just cheated the cake cutting part (with no pics either *sigh*)
yeah, overall it was a very glitch-filled wedding which is pretty much perfectly illustrated by this picture
but one super neato thing I DID learn is that apparently babies attached to ghosts also have ghostlike properties hahahhaa
in sad news, when the household returned in the early hours of the morning, Mr. Jack Skelley aged up into an elder, boooooo. Whenever my pets age up into elders I briefly consider making them immortal so they can stay with my sims forever 😠but alas, sim time must move on
ah well, onto yet another event as it was time for Clarke's bday party and age up into an adult sim. I feel a little bad that I've neglected Clarke his whole sim life so I decided to host the event down at the Stargazer lounge and throw him a big blowout bash with tons of sims invited
the guests busied themselves with bar activities like karaoke
at least the well-behaved ones did. On the other hand, we had sims like freakin Maeve who decided to steal a piece of bday cake before the candles were blown out :(
were you raised in a barn or something, girl? How rude
thankfully that little glitch didn't seem to prevent Clarke from blowing out his candles yippeeeeee
and he looks basically no different from adult. Fittingly, he rolled the glutton trait
before the candles even had a chance to smoke, Clarke turned around and asked Freya to marry him
which she seemed positively thrilled about

sorry, sorry! I'll stop bullying Clarke, it's just that he's soooooo useless
and you know what they say, who doesn't love a long engagement ?

Which is why Freya and Clarke popped on out to the stunning balcony of the Stargazer lounge to elope right under the noses of everyone they love
wowza, I don't think I've ever had two marriages this close together before haha
it seemed like the absolute perfect ceremony for the pair
congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Loden !!
annnnnd a very sad goodbye to the pair as I immediately moved them into Freya's household. The game will take great care of him and we have NO ROOM in the household rn
after all the festivities were over, the rest of our household was enjoying the mundane aspects of life. Like upgrading toilets
and serving up delicious nutritious home-cooked meals
oh and of course, everyone was pitching in to take care of the babies
which gave our favorite dads plenty of time to reconnect with one another
actually maybe too much time because the next thing I knew, Cas had popped out a baby bump ! (hey, if it can happen with an alien in-game, it can happen with my sims, ok? I'm not playing for realism here)
he rushed down to tell Harvey who....was actually pretty upset about it !
You can't really tell from this pic but yeah, he's pissed. If you didn't remember Harvey hates children so it's not like this is an unexpected reaction hahaha
the infant stage had also passed by quickly and that evening, it was time for the twins to age up into toddlers. Naturally, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to throw a family get-together to mark the occasion
which was almost immediately overrun by screaming panicking sims because someone tried to cook and set the stove on fire *sigh*
we can never just have a nice uneventful party, can we?
or one without Jax and Connan spending a questionable amount of time alone together "catching up"....
regardless, we got the whole fires sitch under control and Damien was the first up to blow out his candles
he gained the angelic trait
next up was Dahlia
ahhhh I'm gonna miss her little baby face
she got the trait, silly

jeez, toddler life is just so hard, apparently. Lots to be upset about, ig
Bryn jumped right into caring for the toddlers
and she actually doted on them so much that they both rolled the 'loves being carries' quirk awwwww
which was good because Harvey was errr....not exactly killing it at parenting. He doesn't seem to despise the twins because of the loophole that they're not actually his kids BUT he does generally dislike having them around ahhaha
good thing we're totally not adding another little one soon 😅
thankfully, the rest of the household were much better with the tots, who were also absolutely ADORABLE
I'm obsessed with Dahlia in particular. I meaaaaaaan, come awwwwn, look at her freaking model face. She's gonna be a STUNNA when she gets older
unfortunately, erm I'd been spending so much time focusing on the twins that I totally forgot to feed Boblin's cage or...feed him. My absolute bad guys and RIP to Boblin
later that evening, it was time for Jaxton's bday
and he baked the cake for himself of course
of course tons of the family showed up, I may ignore Jaxton but he's basically a fan favorite with the extended family
hilariously, Connan was one of the only ones to cheer Jaxton on while he blew out the candles. They're rlly never gonna beat the allegations, are they *shakes head*

oh yeah, he's lookin snazzy in retirement imo
well it just wouldn't be a party without someone setting something on fire, ey?

the rest of Casper's pregnancy passed in a flurry of family bonding time
and Briar in particular was only too excited for another grandchild on the way. Turns out grandchildren were a whole lot easier than your own children LOL
and just when Casper was about to pop, it was also time for Harvey to age up into a proper adult
*sparkly, sparkly*
I think he still looks pretty good in his older age
and I'm pretty sure that Casper agreed with me
yup, the two were still enamored as ever
just a couple hours later, Casper started pulling out the labor stretches along with a bunch of yelling
could we really expect anything less out of Harvey than a full-on freaking-out meltdown
to avoid the screaming of his loving husband, Casper went upstairs and huffed and puffed before delivering a beautiful baby boy
welcome to the world, Derek Alphabet !!
errrrrr.....I wasn't expecting Harvey to be happy about the situation but I also wasn't expecting whatever tf this is
ah yes alcoholism, now that's more appropriate
also Derek was born at like 10pm sims-time so we aged up him up just a couple hours later
and here he is as an infant, he got the wiggly trait
in celebration of a THIRD under-3 child (per-sé) in the house, I've taken the liberty of making over a new nursery room
and turning the second 'nursery' room into basically a play room for them to all hang out in
oh and an updated family portrait, exciting !!!
I can't explain it but this is probably one of my favorite assets in the game rn, I just love how it automatically updates with the household yanno
and now for a couple of housekeeping updates, poor Jack Skelley got frozen kitty disease
Jaxton expeditiously rushed him on down to the vet
where a veeery fine specimen checked him out and gave him an absolutely enormous looking shot 0_0
but then Mr. Skelley was all cured and back to being an adorable elder with Jaxton
Bryn had also been spending a ton of time lately with her ghost friend, Esther
and in one of the best moments that I've gotten with the trait gameplay, Bryn changed from hot-headed to cheerful and its completely accurate
spending time with Esther made her happier than she'd even felt in her life, like all the anger about her fate had been for naught if it meant Bryn had made her way to Esther
the two were (obviously) madly in love with each other
Bryn even got along with Esther's roommate, Zuleika
which was good because actually Zuleika was super strange and was even trying to get all up on Esther...hmm it was at this moment that I wondered whether Esther and Zuleika's relationship was actually more lovers than just ghost roommates
regardless, Bryn didn't really care and she asked, nay demanded, that Esther be her girlfriend now and forever. Predictably, she said yes
back at home, Casper was absolutely doting on Derek and constantly rolling wishes for another kid. It's like dude, I get it, but Harvey is already about to implode rn
and speaking of things that are making Harvey almost implode, the other little ones were taking full advantage of the new playroom
though not for long because that evening it was Harvestfest and also the twins birthdays !!

next is Mr. Damien, who (shockingly) was presented to the cake by Harvey
awwww, are you proud of your kid for aging up or are you just happy that he's not gonna be a toddler anymore, Harvey ?
and he got the traits dog lover and rambunctious scamp wahoo !

anyways, the one in the blue shirt is Blythe and Connan's kid, Graham Snow
and since I'm super speedy like that, I went ahead and did the makeover on the kids room in the middle of the party haha
the rest of the party was a smash hit, and the kiddos went around introducing themselves to all their extended family that they could actually talk to now wahoo wahoo
awww another generation of cousins getting to know each other
everyone danced and socialized
and then had a nice Harvestfest family meal since it was a 2-birds-with-1-stone kinda party
at some point, Bryn did get cornered in the living room by the gnome brigade so I had to break out my cheating fingers to free her
oh and for our family update section, I want to show off this guy, Brent Meadows. He's Lynn's sister and part of the extended family and I'm actually so UPSET that he's not mine because damn is he a baddie
oh thanks caterer lady, it sure was nice of you to show up right when the party was ending
new family portrait wahoo !!
now that they were bigger, the twins got right to work exploring all the new stuff they could interact with. Damien chose to start with Mr. Pokey, the house's favorite resident rodent
while Dahlia became committed to her artistic pursuits at the fancy new kiddy art table that I bought for her. It was placed right beside her grandma's easel so the two could have arts and crafts time together
she was also a huge fan of the dollhouse (naturally)
after the twins birthday, Bryn found herself increasingly pulled back to Esther and she barely spent any time at home anymore. Her great-grandniblings were all growing up and it finally felt like she was ready to grow up too (metaphorically speaking of course)
she and Esther were absolutely smitten and spent of their time canoodling
and ghostly woohooing
it only felt right when they returned back to the beach of the baleful bog where they'd shared their first kiss
and Esther asked Bryn to be her ghostfully haunted wife
I saw no need for the two to wait any longer for their happily ever after and had them change into their fanciest wedding wear
congratulations to Mrs. and Mrs. Gomes !!!!
don't worry tho, Bryn will still have a key to the Alphabets so she'll be around a lot still (actually jk because ghosts can’t have keys apparently, what the heck EA)
and with that, I believe its time for this chapter to end. Its gotten way longer than I meant for it to be LOL but I just couldn't make myself cut anymore. Anyways, catch you guys on the flip side, peace
