since aging up into a child, Derek was enjoying all things outdoors. Starting with fishing at this spooky lake by the house. He's pretty much always sticky, covered in mud, and letting all the fish know whose boss
meanwhile, Dahlia was holed up in the library working on her thanatology skill. The dark history of Ravenwood was riveting and she was determined to learn every detail
oh and to celebrate the twins birthday I gave them room makeovers in the brand-new basement !!
and right outside is the brand new party basement, constructed so that the teens have a safe place to shimmy all night long and ruin their digital livers
they made sure to break it in with Vivian
actually now that I mention it, the whole fam was obsessed with the new party room
especially our resident juiceaholic, Harvey
pretty soon, Winterfest rolled around and the dads busied themselves with readying the present pile
the whole family sat down for a holiday meal prepared by Grandma Briar which consisted of a beautiful ham roast and apple pie
then they moved to the entryway to open presents
Damien in particular got a very special present from Father Winterfest
I figured the best present for a dog lover like Damien was a new pupper friend !!
everyone welcome Furdinand, he is smart, a couch potato, and independent. Damien is downright obsessed with him

the next morning was the twins first day of high school, wahoo !!
basically like half of their classmates are cousins or other distant related family. Partly because I just love to keep an eye on them, partly because the gene pools in this save file are starting to become a disaster
omg Damien, you're such a fackin weirdo. You'll never make any friends by spying on them
Dahlia was taking a different approach, spending most of her time in the library studying old haunts and ghost stories of Ravenwood
or she was with her first cousin-once-removed and bestie, Vivian (reminder that she is Blythe and Connan's kid)
that evening, the family went out on the town to enjoy the spice festival and all its offerings
they all competed in the spice challenge together
which literally everyone failed except for Harvey ahhahaha
wow, they really are Bama's descendents *sniff*
like typical teens, Damien and Dahlia snuck off to the bubble blower
and then Damien decided to uh, spy on this guy puking on the pavement. Weirdo
back at home, Briar is spending all of her time doting on Dakota
and who could blame her, it was her last ever grandchild so she needed to take advantage
bit of bad luck and Harvey managed to set himself on fire with the stove even though he has like a level 9 cooking skill...still haven't decided if I like this new luck mechanic or not hmmmmm
nonetheless, a little kitchen fire wasn't enough to ruin new years eve and the whole gang headed out to family day over in Crow's Crossing
Derek busied himself looking for frogs in the fountain while Briar got straight to work on her new will. A little macabre, I know, but she is getting pretty close to the end of her digital lifespan
in typical ghosthunter fashion, Cas was chatting up all the silly spirits floating around the park (sorry I didn't have a better pic hah). Harvey was more than content to hang out on the swings and leave all the spooky activities to the rest of the fam
of course, Damien was off being a weirdo and snooping around a local's house
but I think Dahlia was enjoying the festival the most out of everyone. She encountered this guy Jamal, who is a member of the Order of Lenore and began the quests for Lady Ravendancer's Tarot Desk (since uh, Bryn and Cas never actually finished it oops)
Dahlia also made friends with the crow at the festival, making me think we should get her one of her own (ok so Bryn's crow technically has been in storage this whole time but I don't love the realism of that so let's just pretend, kay?)
and she got the World tarot card from it...not rlly sure what triggered it exactly but something to do with the crow I think
pretty soon, the sun had set on the festival and Grimmie called Dahlia up to ask if he could come spend some time with them at the festival awwww
Harvey doesn't look exactly thrilled with his co-parent
and shockingly, Damien wasn't too happy to see his dad either. The two got into a pretty heated argument with Damien making it clear that Death was never even around enough to be considered his father
thankfully, the fight didn't last too long because I had completely forgotten that it was also prom night !!
Dahlia spent the night taking pics and dancing with her bestie, Vivian
while Damien was hanging out with this friend group. The redhead is Strawberry Rockin (a pretty epic name tbh), the pink-haired girl is Petal Rico who Damien has known since they were kids, and the pink-haired guy is Hunter Schaeffer, his cousin !!
but of all his friends, Damien was on a mission to woo Kat Kave, a sweet girl in his class who he had a massive crush on
he hadn't had quite enough time to ask her to prom but I guess she likes him too because they both got the sentiment about being bitter for not being invited
errrrrr ok just kidding, the girl has quite an attitude on her. Damien basically just said hi and she completely went off on him
never fear, Damien keeps going after what he wants...which kinda works? Idk, Kat is a tough nut to crack
after prom, Damien was invited to an afterparty down at the pier, but sadly Dahlia is not :( our poor little intellectual loner
the crew had a pretty good time hanging out and riding rides but it became glaringly obvious that prom dresses were not made for wintery weather
and every time I thought at least Damien and Kat were making some progress, she'd start pulling faces like this so we cut the afterparty short to head home
we arrived to a doggy birthday party in the front lawn as Furdinand transformed into an adult. I for one am a big fan of how silly and oversized his floppy ears are
the next afternoon, Damien had enlisted the help of Bonehilda to prepare the basement for a huge rager
it was about time to break it in, especially since Damien had lofty aims of becoming popular
also side note but I'm like 99.99999% sure that this sim is a descendant of my simself LOL (legacyception ooOoOOooOO)
needless to say, the party was a huge hit with almost all of their classmates showing up to shimmy the night away
after quite a while on the dance floor, Damien decided to take a break and met the acquaintance of this sim, Bella Black. They pretty much instantly hit it off and spent the next several sim hours exchanging witty banter
oh ho ho and what is this development ??
looks like we're finding out why Kat was entirely unreceptive to everything Damien was throwing at her
the party was just starting to enter the mariokart phase when something absolutely terrible happened
that's right, Briar DIED during her grandchildren's inaugural house party. We really just can't have nice things with these sims huh ?
omg so much is happening rn. Bella angstily smoking a ciggie over Briar's corpse, the random teen in the back hugging a bag of garbage, Grimmie trying to make his way through the crowd of juiced-up teens
absolute cinema, truly
the party kinda died out after the reaping (which I also apparently did not get a picture of oops)
but at least Bella stuck around to offer a smexy shoulder for Damien to cry on
in a noble attempt to distract him, Bella suggested that they go outside and stargaze for a bit. The two teens spent several hours analyzing the constellations and talking about their lives
Damien couldn't believe his luck in meeting such an incredible sim by chance
and before he knew it, he was kissing her
you know what they say, nothing like your beloved grandma dying to set the mood
the next morning it was Dakota's bday, which we were celebrating amongst all the disgusting leftover plates from the party
sorry girlie pop that's my bad. But anyways, we're done with non-self-sufficient sims for Gen 3 !!
she got the creative trait and the artistic prodigy aspiration, following in the footsteps of Briar
ok so Dakota has decided to be all stinky for her first pic as a child BUUT her little buckteeth are positively adorable

she's a big fan of the arts and crafts table
and Mr. Pokey II made the move to be a loyal companion to another Alphabet kiddo
sadly to balance out the birthday, we're required to move on to Briar's funeral
followed by a toast in her honor
the first two Gens and their spouses all laid to rest 💔
while I was renovating the graveyard, I also gave Mr. Jack Skelley his own resting spot (sadly Asparagus never had a tombstone so he won't join the pet cemetery)
oh and to make matters worse, this is apparently the last pic that Clarke will ever feature in because right after the funeral ended, I got a notification that he DIED after being eaten by a cowplant :O WTF
poor freaking Freya is now a single mother to their toddler what the heck :(
and to make things even crazier, I got a notification a little bit later that she'd rapidly remarried to Zayne Caliente (yes, if you were wondering the sim that had regularly been engaging in threesomes with Cas and Harvey, this family could not get any weirder and more incestuous tbh)
the next morning, our teens were back at it for another week of high school. They didn't seem exactly pleased about it...although their grandma did just die so we'll give them a moody-face pass
I have to admit, I don't know if I'll ever get the hang of the more classmates mod either hahahha
I always want way more students at school than we should have and then I forget to reassign them hence the terrible prison-like overcrowding
Dahlia was spending less time in the library and more time getting to know Kat
who turned out to be surprisingly sweet when she wasn't interacting with Damien
luckily Damien was completely smitten with Bella and he was spending lots of time skipping class to goof around together
nothing like teenage sim love ❤️
to seal the deal, Damien skipped even more class to make a promposal sign for Bella
and then got yelled at by the principal who gave him detention !!!
unbelievable, I've had dozens of legacy kids skipping class before and never got detention until now
poor guy went to cry about it in the bathroom after LOL
outside of school and love, Damien was hard at work training Furdinand. He's a smart doggo so he learned a lot of the commands pretty quickly
after several sessions, they even became companions awww
he also started a club called 'The Howling Commandos' for his closest pals, which fits because he also rolled the people person lifestyle (yea, I've been watching a LOT of marvel lately)
In order, the inaugural members were Damien, Bella, Dahlia, Kat, Graham and Vivian
they headed out to a nightclub to dance the night away
and play some good ol fashioned bar games
while Damien and Bella snuck up to the roof to canoodle in private
as the two giggled and stared into each others eyes, Damien knew that he wanted to take the next step with Bella immediately
he asked her to be his girlfriend which Bella happily agreed to
and the next day at school, he wasted no time to whipping out the promposal eeeeeeeeee
I know we haven't exactly been following the kids too much so let's catch up ! Outside of school, they were carrying on The Kool Kids club with their own friends

in honor of Derek's birthday into teenagehood we threw a huge party
I like my teens to enjoy their parties so Derek went to blow out his candles immediately

gotta get the complimentary room makeover out of the way

I feel like he's basically Harvey's clone with Cas' nose hahaha
Derek went around introducing himself to family members. Bryn was more than thrilled to see her nibling all grown up
AND the most exciting new family member because Brent had married a fairy named Fern. I'm so pumped that family gatherings are starting to become packed with occults !!!
to finish off family updates, here is Brooke (Clarke and Freya's child) who'd aged up into a child
everyone had an amazing time at the party as the extended family and friends all got to catch up with each other
well some more than others....in typical teen fashion, Damien and Bella had snuck out to the backyard hot tub to engage in some shenanigans
I think we might need to have a chat with these two about protection
now that Derek was a teen, he dove headfirst into outdoorsy hobbies. As a kid, he'd spent quite a bit of time fishing so his skill was already coming along
but now he got to work on his gardening skills too. I'd been hoping that someone would make use of the planters in the back hahaha
all of a sudden, I get a fire alert because the TOILET has somehow lit Damien on fire WTF
I have googled and apparently if you upgrade your toilet for composting it can do that !!! And I had Jaxton performing a bunch of random upgrades before he died soooooo
thank goodness that Dahlia was quick on extinguishing her brother and the house fire
while her siblings pursued social climbing and other pursuits, Dahlia was still running around Ravenwood to find more tarot cards and complete quests
in Crow's Crossing, she found these intriguing graves and tried to use her intuition buuuut she didn't find anything
on a side note, the Ravenwood neighborhoods are just jaw-droppingly beautiful
her intuition trick actually worked on this gravestone and she got the suspension card wahoo
she also had quite an interesting conversation with Waylon Warez who offered to seal her a bunch of souls among other spooky goods
and to round out the haul, she got the advocate card for completing a task for Jamal, a member of the Order of Lenore
I will also have you know that I did buy Dahlia a pet raven who we've named Edgar. They've been steadily building a friendship through a shared love for gifts and spooky stories
that saturday, it was time for another round of prom for our teens
obviously, Bella and Damien attended together and they got the wholesome dynamic like halfway through the night which is just so freakin adorable GAH

Dahlia ended up going with Kat just as friends...at least that's how they said they were going together but who knows
they had quite a bit of fun taking silly photos in the photobooth together
Derek hasn't even had a first day of school yet but I figured he could come to prom too and he ended up dancing with Lacey Tsukigata
Lacey is closer to his older siblings age but I was glad to see him making friends nonetheless
later on in the night, Damien and Bella won prom royalty AND jester together (oh btw yes that is a sim of Olandria from love island if you recognized her ahahahhaa, she just so happened to spawn in as the school principal)
celebratory kiss in front of all their loyal subjects
this time around everyone went to the afterparty, including Derek
Bella and Damien took a thrilling ride on the love boat
while Derek and Lacey took on the ferris wheel
I thought Kat and Dahlia would have a similar magical night but for some reason Kat was being a real cranky sim. Yeah, I have no idea what was going on there
hilariously, Derek got a proper dress-down from Harvey when they got home from the party. I guess he had a couple drinks at prom or something but tbh, I think Harvey just takes any opportunity to yell at his son
meanwhile, Damien and Dahlia were keeping the party alive without him down in the basement hahahhahahah. Gotta love older siblings, huh ?
supposedly this is still Casper's generation so here's his brief cameo to reassure you that he's still busy ghosthunting
and his collection of treasures is continuously growing
with no more babies in the house, he and Harvey were having a great time reconnecting and getting to have time together
but no more babies because we have quite enough with just the current crew !
