We rejoin our two lovebirds as they prepare for their big day. Ah young love, how sweet it is.
The entire extended family gathered at Myshuno Meadows for the big event. Although Nova was a grumpy little bint, as per usual.
The couple recited their vows even as, ahem,
some people couldn't be bothered to sit and watch the ceremony.
And then as the fireworks exploded overhead, they became Mr. and Mrs. Grayson Star.
The entire party headed back to the house to properly shimmy the night away. As usual, Grayson took the opportunity to mack on his now-wife.
Although I suspect a bit too much 'juice' was imbibed as Shingo ran at a break-kneck speed past Nova to upchuck all over the sidewalk. Sheesh watch out for the little ones!
And the party was fun and everything but Grayson and Harley headed home early to get down they could mark their marriage for real ;)
Noodles, hey! Get out of there, that is not how we welcome people to the household :(
The next morning, the Stars were up bright and early, spending time around the pool despite the cold weather moving in.
Later that afternoon, guests began to arrive for the real event: the twins birthday celebration and transition into childhood, yey!!
Annnnd of course, Alivia chose that exact moment to go into labor. Uh...maybe don't do that in front of Ash, Liv?
But never fear, soon Alivia popped out a cute little baby girl and we were able to continue on with the birthday celebrations !
Juuuust kidding! Because at that exact moment, the cake and the oven caught on fire. Yeesh I'm starting to think this family is just a bunch of pyromaniacs.
Zoe rushed into the kitchen to aid putting out the fire, much to the dismay of the butler. *snickers*
Eveenntuallly, the Stars got it together enough to send off the youngest members into childhood. First up was Nova. She got the Neat trait.
And then Ash, who got the Loves Dogs trait.
And here are the two cuties as kids!
After aging up, Nova immediately got to skilling on her brand-new science table.
And that night, the streets of Brindleton Bay got their first snowfall as winter took full hold of the town.
Gotta admit I'm lowkey in love with how the Stars house looks all decorated and snowy!
As usual, I found Zoe and Byron out playing in the snow together later that night instead of sleeping.
Not like they were very happy with their creation in the end though. *snickers* Nice snowman guys.
Before I knew it, Winterfest had rolled around the corner and Zoe was busily filled up the presents pile for the upcoming celebrations.
Ash in particular was excited about opening presents.
Is it just me or does he look like he'd murder anyone who came between him and his presents? Not sure I want to know what he'd do for a Klondike bar...
But not everyone was enjoying the holiday festivities as ms. mopey-pants over here chose to walk around the house occasionally bursting into tears.
Yikes. Get into the Christmas spirit, Harley! Or at least crack a smile every once in a while, yeah?
Moving on to happier members of the household as Byron continued to shower his little girl in Christmas presents.
This one in particular made Nova very happy....but more on that later!
After the craziness of Winterfest morning the whole Star family sat down to a lunch and Grayson announced that he and Harley would be leaving for a late honeymoon.
Grayson called the travel agency and told the operator his destination....
...Selvadorada!
In a lovely vacation home built by TheSimSupply!!
Grayson got into the vacation lifestyle right away
Ahhh yes, this is the life, isn't it bud?
With a little liquid courage under his belt, Grayson went to the local watering hole to mingle with some of the locals.
He was particularly enchanted with this vendor girl but then she started shooting him looks like this and rejecting all his nice interactions :( The search for friends continues! ....uh elsewhere!
Later that evening, Grayson was having much better luck while talking to this guy. I can only assume that the hair color is a native custom.
The man told him all about the treasures hidden in the hills of Selvadorada and with the right equipment and adventuring spirit, Grayson could discover more than he could ever imagine.
And yes if you're wondering, that is Harley in the background, but the little bint just spent the whole evening scowling, and complaining about the weather.
And then she wet herself *snickers* I mean...oh you poor girl.
Like the dutiful husband, Grayson took his wife home. And also eyed this chick's behind, cheeky boy.
And then something hilarious happened. I bet you thought that Winterfest had long since passed but you'd be wrong! A lot happens in one Sim day and at the end of this one, Father Winter showed up at the lovebirds cabin. Harley went down to greet him and asked for a present and he REJECTED HER.
I was already laughing out loud at my computer at this point, at her sad little face of rejection.
But uh.... there's something I should mention about Harley
Apparently when she aged up, she also gained the mean trait...
And the girl doesn't take an insult lying down.
And apparently the commotion downstairs wasn't of any concern to Grayson as he was playing in the bathtub. Dear lord my sims concern me.
After beating up the poor sod and stealing her presents, Harley made her way upstairs and busied herself with well...what newlyweds do.
I guess beating up Father Winter is her form of forplay? This one worries me...
Early the next morning, Grayson was at the trailhead that he had heard about at the tavern. There was a sign warning of danger but Grayson wasn't daunted by the thought.
He immediately went to work cutting through the vines to open the pathway.
He emerged through the entryway in a swarm of bees, and he could see...
...an adventure awaiting.
Over the couple days, Grayson trecked through the forest, day after day
Excavating collectibles,
Collecting resources,
And facing danger at every corner.
And where was Harley? Well, she was exploring the more tame regions of the jungle on her daily jogs.
Towards the end of their vacation, Grayson brought Harley on one of his daily adventures. He thought that she'd enjoy the views and it'd bring them closer together.
But something about her was just....different.
She'd push just the right buttons, criticizing his every move,
And the second he lost his temper,
He was the one she blamed.
If I'm being completely honest, I never thought Harley being mean would be a problem for Grayson since he's *ahem* oh yeah evil. Mighta forgot to mention that one. hehe....
Anyways, yeah apparently it is a huge issue though, because now every time I take my eye off of them I come back to...
This.
Look at his smug little idiotic face *grumbles*
Oh....well that's not uh...funny at all *snickers* . Not like she doesn't deserve it, mean little bint...
She does have a bit of a rage issue in my opinion. Might wanna watch your back, Grayson.
With his marriage in the toilet, that night Grayson went back to the local bar to 'juice' away his sorrows.
He chatted the night away with a fellow patron and the kind bartender.
Before he knew it, everyone else was leaving and he only wanted to continue his conversation with Bella.
And so he took her out exploring with him
They traveled far together,
And eventually reached the Hidden Temple together as well.
The next couple days were spent running through underground corridors,
De-crypting puzzles,
And digging up artifacts as they made their way through the tunnels.
And a very Spooky Halloween from Mr. Bones here ;)
That's not to say every path was good as Grayson was poisoned while opening the last room.
But eventually they reached the ancient Selvadoradian treasure !
And they parted ways as Grayson returned home to analyze his findings.
As the days of their vacation passed, it turned out Grayson and Harley really never even saw much of each other. Grayson was always in the rental houses office and Harley spent her time avoiding him.
On the last day of the vacation, the rest of the Stars came up to surprise Grayson.
Yeah...so I'm uh not so sure that the surprise visit is gonna cheer him up. RIP Byron you will be missed :(
Or anyone else for that matter.
The Star household was in disarray, most not fully processing the death of Byron. But time moved on, Grayson's potion wore off, and the vacation came to a close, bringing the Stars back home.
OH YOU HAVE GOTTA BE KIDDING ME
That's right, as soon as we got home, Grimmie stopped by and picked up Storm :(( God the universe just loves to kick someone while they're down.
Back away from the cage, Grimmie! You already took our dog, you're not taking Bubby too!!
Back at home, Grayson dedicated himself to analyzing the artifacts that he'd brought back
The rest of the family took comfort in one another.
Well....most of them. It turns out that Harley is just a big old meanie :( even to the poor kiddos like Ash
In sweeter news, as the weather was getting warmer, the kiddos headed outside to play on the swing set that their father had given to Nova for Winterfest. See told ya we'd talk about it later ;)
And Grayson and Harley fell into a sort of rhythm.
They fought...
And well, then they made up.
And they fought a lot.
Also in sad news, our pet Bubby died :( RIP bubs.
It was one such afternoon when Harley and Grayson had another fight.
Except this time, Harley knew she'd gone too far.
And Grayson let her know it in no uncertain terms that their marriage was over.
Turns out that Harley leaving the Star household might not be happening as soon as we'd thought.
Later that night, Grayson went with Bella to the lighthouse museum out on the island.
They spent the whole night talking and getting to know one another, and Grayson had a feeling that he hadn't had in a long time. He knew he had to return home and make sure that Harley was out of his life forever.
Grayson returned home to an ecstatic Harley who told him the big news
And well, he didn't have the best reaction in the world.
And Harley didn't react well to his reaction. I'd blame it on the hormones but we already know attacking people is kindof her thing.
The next few days passed in relatively quiet peace. Harley read up on babies with some pregnancy books,
And Grayson explored some of the quiet spots that the Myshuno Meadows offers.
That evening it was birthday time once again as the twins crossed over into teenagehood. They really didn't have many friends...oops my bad, so it was a lowkey affair with just family in attendance. First up with Ash who gained the Dance Machine trait
And then Nova, who gained the Childish trait.
I gave both of the kiddos nice new room makeovers after their birthdays. But would you like to see them all grown up and what not?
Yeah they're a nice looking pair in my opinion. I'm getting very strong mother-of-dragon vibes from Nova especially.
Ash immediately got to work on the fancy new gym equipment that I bought him as a birthday gift. I mean how else is he gonna get the girls without a body?
And Nova? Well her pastimes consisted more of well...compaining about things. Seriously I always find her standing away waving her arms in the air like a mad cow.
But the one thing she did enjoy was spending time with her brother. Oftentimes I'd find just the two of them chatting in a room together.
In other news, Grayson was finding it exceedingly hard to track down Bella, and I was getting fed up pretty plum quickly as well. She's probably invited him out 4 times at this point and hasn't shown up once!
At this point I've resorted to building up their relationship over phone calls until the game decides to start working.
Ah this family is such a lightning rod for freakishness. I mean just take for example Grayson, who just got struck by lightning while attempting to call the girl who keeps ditching him. Lollls
But maybe the lightning worked after all, because the next day after several attempts, Bella showed up at the house after all.
For her date with Sir Burnt Sausage
But it didn't seem to matter too much to Bella as they spent the morning playing in the pool and watching the clouds move by.
Right as she was about to leave, Grayson hugged her goodbye and knew that he had to make his move.
Success!!
And of course, she said yes to being his girlfriend.
Later that night, Harley went into labor and Grayson played the part of dutiful freaking-out father.
Welcome to the world, Rain Star!
And soon after her daughter was born, Harley left the Star house to fend for herself in the world. She wasn't much concerned with the daughter that she'd left and she knew that Grayson would provide for her.
but Surprising me, one sim who did take to little Rain immediately was Nova. Looks like miss grumpy pants does have a smile.
And so did Bella.
Grayson wasted no time in proposing. The only thing that had stood in the way before was whether or not she'd accept Rain as her own, and it was obvious that she would.
The newly-proposed headed off to do, well...
newly-proposed sim things.
Soon it was time for little Rain to age up with her father and Bella present of course.
